Unlike regular HTV, Scissor Sweep Vinyl's printed HTV doesn’t have a transfer sheet pre-applied to the face of the HTV. Therefore, you need to use high temperature transfer tape to remove the weeded design from the clear carrier and transfer to the garment. Our printed patterns DO NOT include the needed transfer tape because the transfer is reusable multiple times. If needed, transfer tape is available separately.
Start by placing your Scissor Sweep Vinyl printed HTV beautiful side up on your machine's cutting mat. We prefer to always use a mat! Perform a small test cut in the corner to make sure your settings are correct. Only cut through the HTV, not the clear carrier on the back of the vinyl.
Cut your image. DO NOT MIRROR. Remember, you are cutting this HTV from the front, printed side up.
Weed out all excess vinyl that is not part of your design.
Apply the Scissor Sweep Vinyl heat safe transfer tape (not included) to your design, either from the middle out or from one end to the other to minimize air bubbles. Next, we recommend using a squeegee with hard pressure to remove any remaining air bubbles.
Turn everything over and remove the clear carrier from the back.
You are now ready to apply the HTV to your fabric.
Press with a preheated heat press for 10 seconds at 320 degrees F using medium to firm pressure.
Peel transfer tape hot.
Repress for 10 seconds at 320 degrees F if you wish.
You can wear immediately, once cooled! Don't wash for 24hrs.
We always recommend the use of a heat press as the PREFERRED means of applying any HTV, printed or manufactured. Applying HTV with an iron comes with too many variables to accurately and consistently apply the correct time, temperature and pressure required by the material manufacturers for proper adhesion and wash/wear performance. We have a heat press at our location that is always available for use, for a small nominal fee.
